Behavioral Outpatient Services
Program Philosophy
When a person has a problem or issues, they may benefit from counseling.
Counseling should help to identify the cause of the problem and
reduce the symptoms. Counseling is offered in an environment that
is comfortable and convenient for the client and supportive of their
needs. All services are client centered.
Program Description
Counseling services consists of providing an intake, assessment,
treatment plan and carrying out that plan of service.
Goal: To
assist individuals & families to overcome barriers to
effective living.
Behavioral Rehabilitation
Services
Program Philosophy
Many of the personal, social, mental health & legal issues that
are problems do not just happen. They often grow over a period
of time. Because these issues develop, they are preventable.
If they
result from a lack of options, they are preventable by providing
knowledge of the issue and alternative options for youth, they
learn to make
healthy choices.
Program Description
Behavioral Rehabilitative/Prevention Services are short-term services
that stress education support. Based on a community assessment,
rehabilitative and prevention services answer the needs of the people
served. The rehabilitative/prevention program consists of written
materials, classroom type assignments and experiential models of
service. The Client is encouraged to learn to make safe and healthy
choices in life situations.
Goal: To promote healthy choices through
advocacy, prevention, intervention and education.
Youth Development Services
Program Philosophy
Positive Youth Development provides youth with an opportunity
to engage in positive youth activities under adult guidance and
supervision.
Program Description
Education Advocacy, Social Competence, Cultural Enrichment and
Recreational activities are key components of this program. The
purpose is to prevent idle time for youth to be involved in negative
activities and to create positive opportunities to be exposed to
positive activities.
Goal:
To engage youth in recreation, education & enrichment
activities as opposed to negative activities.
Residential Services Emergency Shelter (0-17) / Transitional
Living Program (18-21)
Program Philosophy
Children and Youth are often caught up in
a crisis situation that may leave them without a safe place
to be. The Emergency
Shelter
provides a temporary
safe haven for neglected & abused children and homeless & runaway
youth. Services include case management, life skills training, family support,
crisis
intervention, educational activities and individual and group counseling
in a homelike atmosphere.
Program Description
The temporary emergency shelter is a 24 hour
facility that provide food, shelter, clothing & emotional
support for children up to age 17 who are neglected, abused
or in a crisis situation.
The TLP is an 18 month program for young adults who are homeless
or
runaway.
Goal: To provide a safe haven for children/youth in crisis
situations.
